OP1: Integrated Cross-Sectoral Nurturing Care Reduces Risk Factors and Improves Early Childhood Development Status in Poor Rural Areas of China
- Authors: Dr. Suizan Zhou, Dr. Xiaoli Wang, et al.
- Objectives: Evaluate the impact of an integrated community-based nurturing care package on early childhood development (ECD) in China’s poorest children.
- Methods: Intervention provided to children under age three in four poverty-stricken counties. Five nurturing care intervention components were delivered via various means. Effectiveness evaluated through pre-post intervention-control study.
- Results: Significant reductions in suspected developmental delays and caregiver depression, attributed to the intervention.
- Conclusion: Integrated nurturing care is effective in improving ECD in poor rural areas of China.
